Movie Screening: Fire Forest by Evan Barrientos
Join experts from Timberline Fire Protection District, Gilpin CSU Extension, Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Forest Service-Arapaho & Roosevelt Natl Forests Pawnee Natl Grassland, Colorado State Forest Service, Clear Creek Watershed & Forest Health Partnership, and others for a FREE documentary screening and discussion. “Fireforest” details how prescribed burns and forest restoration treatments helped avert potential disaster during the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire, the largest wildfire in Colorado history. Discussion with local experts, which will follow the film, will touch on wildfire preparedness & evacuation, forest health, wildfire mitigation, and wildfire safety as it pertains to Gilpin County residents.
